Anerood Jugnauth

(March 29, 1930), President of Mauritiu s from 7 October 2003. Twice prime minister and former defense mi nister and interior minister of Mauritius. The Head of Government , held in the years 1982-1995. In the 60s took an active part in negotiations on the Granting of Independence to the island. As the leader of militant Socialist Movement (MSM), in September 2000 once again became prime minister of the country and this function he held until 2003.
